Edits the DSAXXX[SYS0.SYSEXE]:MODPARAMS.DAT, MC AUTOGEN creates this and runs on startup. SYSGEN is a manual version of AUTOGEN
$ MC SYSGEN !start SYSGEN
$ USE CURRENT !set current parameters from MODPARAMS.DAT
CURRENT !current system disk parameters
ACTIVE !current parametes in memory
DEFAULT !paremeters set on a default system
$ SHOW /ALL !list all units from MODPARAMS.DAT except special
... !do the edititing at this point
$ WRITE CURRENT !write the changes to MODPARAMS.DAT
Enable Shadowing:
$ SHOW SHADOWING !shows the parameters
$ SET SHADOWING 2 !2 enables, 0 disables
$ SHOW ALLOCLASS
$ SET ALLOCLASS 1 !sets the alloclass eg $1$DSAXXX
Enable Shadow System Disk:
$ SHOW SHADOW_SYS_DISK
$ SET SHADOW_SYS_DISK 1 !1 enables, 0 disables
$ SHOW SHADOW_SYS_UNIT
$ SET SHADOW_SYS_UNIT XXX !set the 3 digit number after DSAXXX, 0 disables
Editing MODPARAMS.DAT from different SYSTEM disk:
$ USE DSAXXX:[SYS0.SYSEXE]IA64VMSSYS.PAR !default of CURRENT
... !do editing at this point
$ WRITE DSAXXX:[SYS0.SYSEXE]IA64VMSSYS.PAR
Run AUTOGEN:
$ @SYS$UPDATE:AUTOGEN
